Ontario Madison Championship - Report

A total of 13 teams contested the Ontario Madison Championship at the Forest City Velodrome on Saturday night. The race was postponed from December due to boiler problems, last night the heat was on for both the competitors and race fans.

With so many teams entered we had to split the riders into "A" & "AA" divisions based on ability. As it turned out there was a swing team of 2 first year junior riders Kyle Rupay and Justin Zottl were asked to move into the Elite division and learn what being on the rivet and racing like Pro's is all about. The kids did a great job of competing and even won a sprint race which was part of the Omnium format for the teams.

Osmond Bakker is.......Specialized!

Just when you thought our Bici squad couldn't get any better we go out and secure one of the top riders in the country! We are very proud to announce Osmond Bakker will be racing on our LaBicicletta Elite team in 2010! (Damn I'm proud of myself and this roster!! I'll be patting myself on the back all week about this pick up!) We expect big things from this elite team in 2010. With this addition we've added an extremely strong rider with a ton of experience PLUS he is a true team player. All of our guys (young and old) can learn a lot from this guy and because of that he has made our entire S 1-2 team a whole lot better!

LaBiciSquadra "The Bike Team" 2010

Happy New Year From LaBiciSquadra! Our little club is ready to take on the Ontario road scene in 2010 and we would like you to be apart of it. Weather you enjoy a relaxed touring ride or a fast paced training ride we hope to provide you with everything cycling in 2010. We will have a club team that represents us in all race categories and is a feeder system for our elite cycling team. With access to all of our team training rides, indoor and outdoor and our North Carolina Training camp joining our club is the best way to get your name out there and have access to training with the best! If you just want to enjoy the countryside or ride in a social atmosphere we will have that too. Our indoor rides are as hard as you make them, they are social and there lead by one of the top riders in the province. You get a fun, relaxed atmosphere and expert guidance. Please get your club membership forms in sooner than later. It helps quite a bit to get all the paper work done before our race season starts and also helps us to know how much clothing we need to order.
